As we join the global celebration of International Women's Day, let’s delve into the journey of Quynh Lam, a sophomore CBM student at VinUniversity, where she is empowered to gain significant academic achievements and leadership experience.
Through a myriad of initiatives and unwavering commitment, our university has fostered an environment where every student, regardless of gender, is empowered to thrive and excel. According to Quynh Lam, the university's principles of excellence and entrepreneurial mindset have always encouraged her to strive for the exceptional in the most ordinary settings. "I tried to seize every amazing opportunity here: learning from experienced professors, seeking support for major projects, and immersing myself in new experiences that I have never imagined."
Talking about the most memorable experience that shaped Quynh Lam's mindset and perceptions of gender roles, she recalled her first year of college living in the dormitory, where she met and got along with seven other remarkable young women. "After only a year, I learned how to love and cherish women even more." That period helped her realize that as women, she and her friends shared countless fears, yet they all dared to pursue their aspirations fearlessly.
VinUniversity has not only broadened Quynh Lam’s horizons on gender equality but also empowered her to take leadership roles in major events. Currently, Quynh Lam, together with Giao Dam, is the co-manager of TEDxVinUniversity 2024: The New Dawn, which will take place in April. "We both agreed that it won't be any easy to perfectly realize such a huge event, so we are trying our best to make sure that every part of the project is carefully done."
Witnessing two female students leading one of the university's biggest events is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Amidst myriad trials and obstacles, these two remarkable students persist in steering the event toward unprecedented success. "I hope that TEDxVinUniversity 2024 will be more than a great success so that all 60 members of our organizing committee can be proud of our joint effort, and to spread the meaningful messages about "the new dawn" to the youth."
