As we celebrate the graduation of VinUniversity's very first cohort, let's take a moment to look back on their incredible journey. From facing down a pandemic to creating a vibrant campus culture, Cohort 1 VinUnians have truly set the stage for all of us.
When our first cohort kicked off their university adventure, the world was in the grip of the COVID-19 pandemic. This meant their first year was anything but ordinary. Online learning became the new normal, with virtual classrooms taking the place of in-person lectures. This wasn't always easy, but our pioneering students showed amazing resilience and adaptability, staying connected and engaged despite the challenges. National defense camp, a significant part of student life at VinUni, was shortened to only 10 days, yet the students made the most of the experience.
As the founding students, Cohort 1 VinUnians had the unique opportunity to establish many of the clubs and organizations that continue to enrich campus life today. They were the driving force behind the creation of vibrant communities like VinUni Business Insider and VinMagazine, which are still running well today. This year, there are over 30 clubs at VinUni – the thriving club culture at VinUni today is a direct result of the pioneering efforts of our first cohort.
Cohort 1 VinUnians were also the first to experience the university's state-of-the-art facilities. From modern dormitories to cutting-edge classroom amenities, they were the initial users and evaluators of the campus infrastructure. Living in the dorms, attending classes in newly designed rooms, and using the various resources available on campus for the first time brought a sense of novelty and excitement. This cohort set the standard for campus life, establishing traditions and practices that will be carried on by those who follow.
As they move on to the next chapter of their lives, the first cohort of VinUnians leaves behind a powerful legacy of resilience, innovation, and community spirit. They have not only navigated through extraordinary times but have also laid down a strong foundation for future students to build upon. This year, along with bidding them farewell, we look forward to seeing the continued impact of Cohort 1 VinUnians in the world, confident that they will carry the values and spirit of VinUniversity with them wherever they go!
